The cancer clinic - my 2nd home

I have 5 appointments next week; 3 of them on the same day:

1. orthopedic surgeon (re my broken hand)
2. radiation oncologist (re my brain lesions)
3. plurex specialist (re the fluid on my lung)
4. medical oncologist (re changing my chemo)
5. cancer clinic social worker (re trying to make sense of all this).

Yikes!

What I’m grateful for today: Vanilla milkshakes. My appetite isn’t great but I crave milkshakes. My mom is gone to the store right now to get vanilla ice cream to keep me in supply.

Oh vanilla! My total fave! I always keep vanilla meal shakes in the house to mix with other stuff like lf frozen yogurt, fruit, or just in my morning coffee. This was the one thing I learned from the chemo cookbooks that we've kept on with.
Bon appetit - eat dessert first!

Sorry you have so many appointments... that can be a drag!
Hope this week is a little better for you. That vanilla milkshake sounds yummy! You could try adding some protein powder or Carnation instant breakfast to it for more nutrients. I think you are wise to eat what and when it appeals to you, just maximize the benefits :)

I remember days with so many medical appointments in one day I felt like a guinea pig.

I don't know how many times I've visited your site today my friend but it was the closeness I needed to feel 'in the moment'. You have been such a GIFT to us these past 30 years. The footprint you have left on this earth cannot be expressed in words but in heart. I know you would want us to smile and re-live the good memories in lieu of the pain we are feeling in our hearts at the loss of you.... but I ask for 'time' and know you will understand. I promise to carry your banner at the Dollar Store! It's the only humour I can dig deep for today and that too I know you will understand. Safe journey my friend and thank you for being such an important part of our lives journey.....Much Luv and Blessings little one ....Chuck & John

Chris, how will we live without your smiling face and great sense of humour?? I'm glad your mom was with you this past while and thank god for vanilla milkshakes! I'm going to take my kids out and order vanilla milkshakes for all in your honour. You will be missed every day.

Love Amanda
